Mr. Stickler

George Franklin Stickler dressed exclusively in suits that were custom-made of the finest unbleached cotton. Not only were the suits manufactured of the most sublime material available, but before being hand-delivered to Monsieur Stickler from High Street's premier haberdashery, each was bathed in a solution concocted of the finest herbs in order to lend a delightful scent to the fabric. As he was in great demand in certain circles, and as his (occasionally incapacitating) sartorial vanity did not permit him to appear in public twice wearing the same attire, the discriminating Mr. Stickler possessed nearly one thousand such outfits: one smelled of the most enticing English lavender, another of bergamot, and yet another of vervain. In addition, each of these wonderfully odoriferous costumes was festooned with hundreds of tiny pockets, thus providing--in the traditional Victorian manner--a distinct niche for each item with which the grand Mr. Stickler might wish to equip his considerable person.
