Whatever you do over the next couple of weeks, make sure it includes watching Office outtakes. Worth it just for Ricky Gervais' infectious hyena-type giggle fits.

If you make mulled wine, use the Joy of Cooking recipe but TRUST ME you can take a couple of shortcuts by combining all ingredients except the wine at once--also, use what you have, not what they tell you to. Key is: Add wine at the very end and heat but do not bring to a boil. Took me about 10 minutes and the result was loverly.
